I'm running 35km to Cure Mito in The Bloody Long Walk!
I'm running 35km in The Bloody Long Walk to help Australians living with mitochondrial disease.
My beautiful son Kye has a Mitochondria Disease called Leigh Disease. There is a short life expectancy due to this diagnosis of 2 to 3 years on average. He will be turning 1 at the end of April. There is no cure and we hope that one day there will be.
I am doing this run to help raise awareness as well as much needed funding to help find a cure for Mito.
I know I’ll cross the finish line exhausted and blistered, but that’s nothing compared to what people with mitochondrial disease (mito) go through every day of their lives.
Mito robs the body’s cells of energy, causing multiple organ dysfunction or failure. It can affect anyone at any age.
