I'm walking 35 km in The Bloody Long Walk in honour of my nephew Roman, who gained his wings because of mitochondrial disease.
The mitochondria, aka the powerhouse of the cell, are impaired and cannot produce energy effectively.This disease deprives the body's cells of energy, leading to dysfunction or failure in multiple organs.
Please sponsor my walk to support vital research and cures for this devastating yet preventable disease. While many people are affected by this horrible disease, there is not merely enough awareness.
