📣📣 SHOUT OUT!! THANK-YOU SPONSORS 😍😍
Thank you to the amazing sponsors! I have smashed my fundraising goal, and I cannot thank you all enough. Kellie Craft, Masina Taule'alo, Belinda Phillips, Kez Louise, Julieanne Black, Narelle Patterson, Micarla Jayne, Warrego Earthworks & Tree Services, Bernice McPhee, Narelle Patterson, Jay Dunne and a few anonymous sponsors too!
Tomorrow, I am walking 35km in The Bloody Long Walk to help Australians living with mitochondrial disease. That’s 46,200 steps in one day! We have arrived at the coast and have a relaxing day planned... an indoor day with this glorious rain!
If you would like to donate, there is still time today before I hit the pavement tomorrow morning at 6:30am!

I'm Walking 35km to Cure Mito in The Bloody Long Walk!

From Shock to Strength — Why I’m Doing the Bloody Long Walk 🏃‍♀️💪
Back in September, I saw a photo of myself on social media that really shook me. I was embarrased to recognise the unhealthy person leaning on the wall… was it really me… yes, it was! (See photo below!). That moment was a turning point. With a nudge from a supportive colleague (shout out to Bernie Bernice McPhee! 🙌), I laced up my sneakers and started walking. I couldn’t keep up with Bernie’s distances at first, but I gave it a good crack! 👟
Then life changed again — I relocated to Toowoomba and took a term off work to help Lily and Katy transition into school. This break gave me a chance to focus on me. I climbed Mt Peel most days ⛰️, cleaned up my eating habits 🥗, and before I knew it, I was down two dress sizes and feeling stronger every day! ✨
Last October, I ran my first 5km in years and it took me 46 minutes… and just this week, I’m running it in 32 minutes! ⏱️ I’m not at my final goal yet, but I’m on my way. 💪
To keep myself accountable and give back in the process, I’ve signed up for the Bloody Long Walk on June 1st — 35km in one day in support of kids living with mitochondrial disease. 🧬❤️
Some days, I don't feel like hitting the pavement. But I remind myself why I started — for my own health, for my daughters, and for the kids who fight every day with mito.
I’d be so grateful if you could support me on this journey. Every donation helps fund research and hope for families affected by this devastating disease. 🙏
Please donate today — every step counts, and so does every dollar.
