I’m not sure why I’ve agreed to this
Like it or not I'm walking 35km in The Bloody Long Walk to help Australians living with mitochondrial disease. The Drs’ final theory was that Lissa had one of these conditions as they affect multiple body systems at once and not much is known about them.
I struggle to get to 5,000 steps on any given day but on 26th of October I’ll be doing 46,200 steps! And the girls and Shannon have agreed to give it a go as well.
I know we’ll cross the finish line exhausted and blistered, but that’s nothing compared to what Lissa and other people with mitochondrial disease (mito) go through every day of their lives.
Mito robs the body’s cells of energy, causing multiple organ dysfunction or failure. It can affect anyone at any age.
Please sponsor my walk to fund research into desperately needed treatments and cures for this devastating disease.
Every dollar will make a difference!. Our 35km walk will be bloody tough, but with Lissa telling us to ‘go faster’ and with your support, I think we can do it.
THANK YOU!
