We're walking 35km in The Bloody Long Walk!
We created Team Hayden and Jacob 6 years ago in memory of our beautiful boys Hayden 6/05/2002 - 02/06/2018 and Jacob 6/12/2010-09/01/2014. Both boys had Leigh’s disease a type of mitochondria disorder. This year it will be our 6th year doing the walk and it also is on the anniversary of Hayden passing away 6 years ago. We are doing the walk to help keep our boys memories alive while supporting a great cause to help Australians living with mitochondrial
We know we’ll cross the finish line exhausted and blistered, but that’s nothing compared to what people with mitochondrial disease (mito) go through every day of their lives.
Mito robs the body’s cells of energy, causing multiple organ dysfunction or failure. It can affect anyone at any age.
