I'm Walking 35km for our daughter Maeve and to Cure Mito in The Bloody Long Walk!
I'm walking 35km in The Bloody Long Walk for our daughter Maeve as well as to help Australians living with mitochondrial disease.
Maeve is an extremely resilient girl. Watching what she goes through day to day, is a true testament to who she is.
Despite her short life expectancy, and that she is unable to walk, talk or eat without assistance, she has come such a long way in the last year. We are very lucky to have some amazing specialists who work with Maeve around the clock, to better her life.
Maeve loves swimming in the pool and playing with her dog Bobby (who is her BFF). Maeve has also integrated really well with her kindy in Mudjimba. She’s made more friends, than her sisters combined.
For those of you that are an aware, Mito robs the body’s cells of energy, causing multiple organ dysfunction or failure. It can affect anyone at any age.
Every year we walk, raising money in trying to find a cure for Mito, raising awareness and most of all, for our girl Maeve.
If you can spare a dollar, I would be ever so grateful.
