We're walking 35km in The Bloody Long Walk!
Our team is walking 35km - 46,200 steps in one day - to raise funds for people living with mitochondrial disease, like Alfie.
Last year Alfie had a life-threatening medical episode (involving an induced coma and a frantic medivac)! 😨
He’s back home now, although he still has plenty of regular hospital appointments. He’s been diagnosed with mitochondrial disease (mito).
Mito is a debilitating genetic condition that saps the body's energy and, in many children, can be terminal. There’s currently no cure for mito. 🧪
Alfie is the most remarkable little boy in the world. He does everything with a smile and he is the nicest, sweetest little boy.
We want the whole world to see you! See how brave you are, how far you’ve come and what you are going to go on and achieve in life! We stand by you every single day Alfie and will continue to support and encourage you to achieve your goals.

My cousins child died of this disease at 18 years old. We have got to do more research so we can either detect it and even better find a cure. Good luck with Alfie. He is just adorable. Im sure the medical world are managing these kids so much better these days. They didn't pick up Hughs disease until about 12.
